Manufacturing Engineer
There is an opportunity for a Manufacturing Technical Engineer to provide technical/manufacturing support as the customised product capability develops.
You will need for this role:
- Experience in technical / manufacturing role
- Extensive knowledge of sheet metal / fabrication manufacturing methods
- Extensive knowledge of CAD/CAM and AutoCAD software (Radan CAD/CAM desirable)
- Ability to read and produce accurate engineering/manufacturing drawings
It is anticipated that the role will be split into 2 main areas, firstly, to provide technical support in work preparation so that non-standard/bespoke items flow through the production facility efficiently and secondly in providing support to the maintenance department.
Approximately 60 per cent of this role will be in relation to work preparation and you will be expected to carry out various tasks, including the production of manufacturing/sub-con drawings, laser programs and PPDs. The remaining 40 per cent will be taken up supporting plant maintenance providing technical and engineering support.

The Role:
Ensure that manufacturing drawings, laser programs and any other relevant information is produced accurately and in a timely manner to ensure efficient manufacture of semi-standard/bespoke product
Work with and support AS Project Manager(s) to ensure customer requirements are met in respect to design and manufacture of products
Provide technical/engineering support to the maintenance supervisor in the design, manufacture and procurement of relevant materials
Provide Technical support to Plant productivity improvement initiatives
Ensure Health & Safety & Environmental Compliance in Daily Operations
Production of project drawings for customer approval
Provide cover in the writing of perforation programs (PPDs)
Ensure all technical materials are available to support manufacture
Advise planning of process run rates of bespoke items
Production of mock-ups to prove technical solutions
Support the achievement of customer service metrics through accurate and timely tech support
Develop customer requests into acceptable and cost effective configurable solutions
Requirements:
HNC in an engineering / manufacturing discipline preferable
Experience in technical / manufacturing role
Extensive knowledge of sheet metal / fabrication manufacturing methods
Extensive knowledge of CAD/CAM and AutoCAD software (Radan CAD/CAM desirable)
Ability to read and produce accurate engineering/manufacturing drawings
Computer literate
The training required would be on in-house systems and on the product portfolio
Knowledge of suspended ceilings desirable
Experience in managing small projects
Knowledge of CNC laser cutting techniques preferable
You should be self motivated and able to work unsupervised, be organised & attentive to detail and have problem solving ability with creativity
Be a good team player and Integrate well with other employees
This position may occasionally require some travel
