A Shift Manager is required for a leading PVC U Window and PVC U Products company, based in Telford, Shropshire offering a salary of £23,000 per annum, rising to £26,000 per annum on completion of probationary period and attaining relevant qualifications.

This Telford based company employ some 70 employees and is one of the UK's leading laminators of UPVC products. They are a highly successful company which is part of a much bigger (£200 million turnover) Group, comprising 30 different operating companies based throughout the UK and employing c1,800 people.

Shift Manager:

The key objective of this new role is to effectively manage and monitor all activities, including goods inwards, production, and warehousing. You will ensure that the foiling of products is on time and to specification, whilst taking responsibility for health and safety, environmental, quality and maintenance activities.

The Shift Manager role is integral to the success of site operations. You will take an active role in coaching and mentoring the Senior/Cell Leaders, whilst developing a whole team ethic. You will also be expected to pro-actively support the development and improvement of all site processes to grow the business.

You will work with and support the Factory Manager to develop and continuously improve site operations to achieve the site vision and company's forward strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

- People Management and Development
- Proactively supporting and managing all SHEQ systems
- Ensure product quality is maintained through the application of the quality management system
- Assume full responsibility for the site in the Factory Manager's absences
- Manage all activities associated with goods inwards, production, and warehousing
- Use World Class manufacturing tools & techniques to continually improve the business
- Coordinate and prioritise breakdown repairs by liaising with the Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a Shift Manager who is a confident, enthusiastic self-motivated individual who will relish taking responsibility for all aspects of the role.

Skills:

- You will demonstrate strong leadership capability
- Shift Management experience gained within a fast moving production environment
- Computer literate demonstrating a working understanding of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of World Class & Lean manufacturing techniques
- Excellent communication skills
